Search Engine Optimization Benefits + PixelGigs SmartSuite

Saturday, April 16th, 2011

JohnScevolaSEO.com + http Do you want more internettraffic? Are you moving up in search engine rankings too slowly? If you’re looking to monetize a web site of any kind then you probably already know about the web page promotion benefits of Search Engine Optimization or SEO. The problem is that Google continually updates their SEO algorithms (ie Universal, Caffeine, and Instant Search). The difference between these new Search algorithms and Google’s older ones is enormous! Search Engine Optimization (SEO) 2.0 or Google Universal Search SEO, includes virtually everything related to a search or query, including: Videos, Images, Advertising, Product Placement, News, Detailed Site links, Maps, and more. There is no real limit to the results a search engine such as Google can produce but the fact is that modern search engines no longer work on the old metrics. These days shoehorning keywords into meta tags and page titles in order to achieve ridiculously high keyword density (spamming) will actually hurt the search profile of a web site substantially. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) 2.0 or Google Universal Search SEO, has changed the way online prowess must be achieved. Now, companies and website developers must utilize a diverse multimedia approach, focusing not only on content with keyword rich copy, but also optimizing all of their digital media, thus showing they are the best “fit” for Google’s blended results pages. If you want to survive, even dominate, online you need

Blekko, the search engine disrupter at SES New York 2011

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Byron Gordon, SEO-PR, interviews Rich Skrenta, Blekko, on the exhibitor floor at SES New York 2011. Blekko is a search engine that uses slashtags to search the web to find only the sites you want while effectively reducing the amount of spam sites. Blekko recently banned 1.1 million spam domains, using an algorithmic technique where Blekko looked for the intersection between thin content and aggressive participation and self-service ad networks. Blekko rooted out sites that were deemed spam by their users, including such sites as eHow. The web continues to change dramatically, according to Skrenta, and Blekko seeks to be editorially different than Google or Bing. Skrenta says Blekko can give a user 10 different search results when compared to the results of other search engines and all with no spam. Organic Search Engine Optimization ~ The Basics

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

With all the talk about organic search engine optimization and how important it is to promoting a web site, some web masters are deluded into thinking that they have no hope of competing without the help of a search engine optimization professional. With no money to spend, these web masters just bemoan their helplessness and learn to live with the fact that their web sites will always be at the bottom of search engine results.

While paying an organic search engine optimization professional may indeed give a web site an enormous boost in page ranking, this does not mean that there is no other option left to the web master with no funds to hire one. There are lots of things in web site building and design that are commonly neglected when these details could have made a big difference in search engine rankings.

Begin at the basics: file naming and page title

The web site is a mine of opportunity to improve page ranking. A web master may not neglect to include keywords in the meta-tags and in the web content but has due consideration been given to the other elements of the web site?

One case in point is file naming. When the web site names the web site’s home page, for example, it is usually the case that the name chosen is “home.html.” Right there is one opportunity wasted. This name could have been turned into “pets-home.html” instead and thus would have included the keyword “pets” which would be more relevant to a web site dedicated to pets. The web designer could then have incorporated a keyword in the file name of each web page that makes up the whole web site, and the site’s relevance could have risen with it.

Another organic search engine optimization opportunity that’s often wasted is an untitled page. This is usually a mistake that’s been committed unwittingly and occurs due to forgetfulness and negligence on the part of the web designer. It is important to give a title to every page in the web site, and the more the page is relevant to keyword queries then the better the page title is.

Enhance and improve: keywords, hyperlinks and images

Even someone with little training in organic search engine optimization knows that the use of relevant keywords throughout the web pages will improve the overall search engine rank of the web site. However, some web masters merely include the keywords without trying to maximize their impact.

Keywords could have been turned into anchor texts that in turn direct the readers to other pages in your web site or to other sections of the same page. Doing so would have increased the effectiveness of your keywords and could have increased the ranking of your other web pages.

The navigation bar is also another means to improving page rank when it incorporates text links at the bottom that contain your keywords. Even navigation bars with images instead of texts should incorporate keyword text links underneath.

The images on the navigation bar and the graphics for web design purposes themselves could also incorporate alternative text descriptions that are composed of relevant keywords and can be seen by search engines.

Be accurate: relevant keywords

If keywords are important to search engine optimization efforts, then it is even more important to make sure that the keywords that are being emphasized all over the web site are truly and actually relevant. There is a need to know what keywords most web-surfers use in relation to the web site’s business or service field. Being off the mark on this is a certain way to get bottom rank in organic search engine optimization results.

Common Techniques Used in SEO

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

When you watch the science channel, you probably are both shocked and amazed by the different kinds of usually larger predators making a meal out of their unsuspecting preys. However you are often more amazed to the smaller predators chunking on their larger preys, often coming up with naturally ingenious schemes to trap their unsuspecting preys. One fine example of this is of course, for more details visit to www.the20seotools.comyour friendly arachnid neighbor (or housemate), the amazing spider. Trapping their unwary preys on their silky web, the spider can easily devour on his meal in no time.

Although of course they are not exactly the same thing, this same scheme is evident every time you click the search button of your favorite internet search engine. With probably more than a hundred million of websites in the internet, especially with many tackling the covering the same topics, it is therefore important for a website to get on “top of the things,” more specifically to get on top of the list of the search engines when they start returning results for a particular search.

In allusion, search engines uses “spidering” or web crawling to create copies of visited web sites, indexing the web pages to offer faster searches later, practically, the spiders are trapping the best catches to provide the searchers (based on a number of factors) with the best possible site later. The allusion may end there, for more details visit to www.offline-promotion.com however, for in a real life spider-prey situation, the spider will trap an unwitting and definitely non-cooperating prey, while in web crawling, the preys would literally submit themselves to the spiders to be considered the best catch. Web pages do this by virtue of search engine optimization (SEO), where the volume and quality of traffic from search engines to the particular web site are increased. In essence, SEO maximizes the probability of a web site to be visited by optimizing its chances to be at the higher ranks of the list of returned search results of the most widely used search engines.

One of the most common techniques used in SEO to increase your web page traffic is of course, to make your web page marketable. If your web page has an appeal, of course along with the relevant contents, your site is more likely to be visited by other people, particularly close associates of the visitor who became interested to your web page). In addition, SEO also implements a kind of advertising your web page to online directories or commonly visited sites. This includes submission of articles containing relevant keywords (that can be links) about your site on other pages where people visiting those pages can easily read. This scheme of SEO is one of the most popular especially among business web pages. There are many other ways on which SEO can maximize your “market appeal” to the internet surfers. The best way of course, is to hire expert SEO professionals in order to help you with your web site, but of course you have to learn something about the matter so you can guide them all along the process, after all, it’s your web page.

With literally millions of competitors on the “online market,” you will really need an SEO Company to increase the chances of your web site being on top of the lists of search engines and therefore being visited. You must consider hiring professional SEO help if you want your site to be noticed by the online “spiders”-after all, the internet is virtually, well, a world wide web.

On-site and Off-site SEO

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

This article is about basic phases of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). If you have developed or thinking to develop a website, you must keep these basics in your mind. I have tried to explain very simple way so you can easily implement it.

There are two Major phases of SEO.

1- On-site SEO

2- Off-site SEO

On-site SEO

On-site SEO includes all those steps, taken to optimize website for search engines. Means On-site SEO is optimization of your website so Search engines can access and cache it easily.

Now you might think what is Search Engine Cache?.

Every Search engine has made a program called Spider or Bot. This bot follows hyper links and whatever page comes in front, it store all the text of that page.

Now you will be clear, It means your website must have good textual content. Because search engine can’t read Flash files and Images. They just follow their ATL or Object tags for graphics.

So make a good content by using best keywords.

Now here are the On-site SEO steps

  • Get Targeted Keywords and use them in the content. You can use Google Keyword Tool to get keywords synonym and their phrases.
  • Use keywords in you Heading H1, H2, H3 Tags
  • Write ALT attribute in your all image tags
  • Use your some keywords in Title, But it should not be long.
  • Make your Meta Tags of Keywords and Description, You can use any meta tag generator like http://www.addme.com/meta.htm
  • Use keywords in Menu links, footer links and content links. It will increase your keyword density.
  • After completing these step. Generate XML Sitemap of your website. You can use this application http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ , However review your map and remove unnecessary links. Then upload it to your website e.g http://www.vidionline.com/sitemap.xml
  • Make your Robots.txt. e.g http://www.vidionline.com/robots.txt .You can search tools for that also.

hmmmm, Well I think its enough for the On-site SEO. However there can be secrets also. But these are some major steps.

Off-site SEO

Off-site SEO includes all those steps, taken to optimize the link popularity or website marketing.

What is link popularity?

Take example from real world. As many people know you, you become popular. If you are popular among good people then you become celebrity and if you are popular among bad people then you become notorious.

So when you are building links to your website, keep it in mind. Is that a good vote or bad vote?

After developing website, Make a good description of website and make special email account for submission. Don’t use regular email, Otherwise you will get spam forever icon smile On site and Off site SEO

Here are the main steps to submit

  • Submit your website to Google http://www.google.com/addurl/
  • Submit your website to Yahoo http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/
  • Submit your website to Live (MSN) http://search.live.com/docs/submit.aspx

These search engine have more than 90% traffic and most of other search engines follow their links. You can try other search engines specially local search engines, Otherwise it is enough.

Now submit your website to web directories.

  • Directory Submission: Most of SEO experts or link builders will ask you to submit url to 100 web directories and perhaps your will get results temporarily, But this is not good tactic and you will see your website with un-targeted traffic. Google experts are not so silly that they can’t differentiate good and bad links. I will recommend that Just take 20-30 good Pagerank web directories paid/free and submit your website there.
  • Social Book Marking: Personally, I think social book marking and social profiles are better technique than web directories submission. Because there website has already Good reputation to Search Engine. They just don’t give you good Vote but can send a targeted traffic to you as well. You will find serious customers and visitors rather than web directories. Some examples are Delicious, Digg and Stumbleupon etc.
  • Social Website Profiles: Make your website profiles on websites like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter etc. These websites provide good traffic and searching results as well.
  • Press release/ Article Submission: If your website has some articles and news stuff then you should publish it on websites. These website spread or publish your articles and news to other website also. That makes your website more popular and generate traffic. For article listings try http://ezinearticles.com/and http://www.articlesbase.com/ etc. For Press releases try http://www.prlog.org/ and http://www.openpr.com/
