In your dental practice internet marketing, it is important that you’ll have the means to create traffic into your own webpage. And for dentistry we’re only going to be starting with three niches: first, implant dentistry; second, cosmetic dentistry; and third, sedation dentistry. Obviously, the reason why those are very important for you is the fact that the transaction size of those patients are really big, and if you are not generating or getting those patients, then who is? So, the key things that I wanted to think about is why SEO is becoming more important for you in your practice than ever before. You see, I’ve been consulting in the dental field for about 7 to 8 years now, and I’ve never seen a time where the “landscape” of marketing is shifting so much. Right now, newspaper rates are going up, and the readership of those newspapers are going down. And this only means that it is getting more and more expensive for you to get patients via the newspaper. Now it can still work for you though, but the last statistic that we looked at is that 30% of the population is actually looking at the newspapers. The other thing to look at is that TV and cable is getting harder and harder to become profitable because of DVR, TVO and the increasing in AD rains. Direct mail is always going to be a valuable media that you have to be targeting, but sad to say, the reality is that it is expensive as well as it is difficult. Now that’s just from a pure media perspective. And when you look at who your ideal patients are for those specific topics (like implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and sedation dentistry), the thing that you have to be aware of is that those patients, no matter what age, are going online and searching! There’s actually a research center that says, “the fastest growing population other than teenagers who are online are people over the age of 55”; so that if you’re not doing anything or everything now to put yourself in a position to successfully dominate your target areas and your target keywords, then the big possibility is that you’re going to regret it if someone else beats you to that!
