I would like to know what brainstorming tool in SEO for keywords research?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Google keyword tool is awesome. Keep in mind it will give you returns on content as well as searches. Meaning the numbers are always higher than what they are and they run across all the Google partners.

If you want a simple but accurate numbers (daily numbers not monthly) I recommend word tracker.
Both links are below:
I also recommend Kortia seo tools.

How many keywords do I need for the best SEO?

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Ive heard the more the better, but I also heard people just say that so you use A LOT then you get bad seo (helping them). Research has shown me to believe 3-5 words for main page, then one good keyword for each other page. PLEASE HELP

Here’s a webmaster article from google.com regarding placement of metatags:

Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your

domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the "Description" which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category – "Keywords" are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
directory.

Good luck!

Problem with Google sitemap submission url keywords seo?

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Hi people, iv just build a new site which contains thousands of pages, i submitted the site map and so far it has indexed 120 pages. I basically going to keyword all the urls to friendly urls although i don’t know whether i need to do a 301 redirect?

Reason i am asking is these categories have not been indexed yet, indexing other pages where keyword urls are not needed, really would like help on this, worried big time.

Duplicate content maybe a serious concern, depending on what exactly you did on these thousands of pages. Whether or not it’s on a e-commerce platform, blog or just a website with a lot of pages will also be a major factor.

In SEO keywords, should you include for example "email" and "e mail" and "e-mail" or is just the first one ok?

how can i effectivley choose keywords for seo?

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

i want to make a disc golf site to sell disc golf discs and accessories as well as provide good disc golf tips. what is the best and most effective way to choose keywords to get maximum traffic from seo?

To get maximum traffic, you have to rank high for a given keyword. By high I mean being on the first 3 pages of the SERPs.

For "disc golf", there are about 2.6 million competing sites. That’s a tough keyword to rank for as a beginner. However, if you must rank for it, you must use it. But, initially, you should try to rank for less competitive variations like long-tail ones.

Somewhere between 1,200 to 50,000 competitors would be comfortable for beginners. It’s not a rule just a suggestion. You can go higher but the point is, the less competition the easier to rank high. Eventually, you can start using tougher variations.

By long tail, I mean longer variations that still have "disc golf" within them. Never use synonyms as these have different spellings. You rank for them separately, and they will be shown in entirely different result pages.

You can use the free Google AdWords keyword tool to find modifiers of "disc golf" that are less competitive. Uncheck the synonyms.

Learn and apply on-page SEO. The more important task, however, is off-page SEO. You should be building an unlimited number of quality backlinks.

Quality backlinks are one-way hyperlinks that use your keywords as anchor texts. They should come from relevant high PR sites, preferably with different domain names and IPs.

How do i implement Keywords for SEO?

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

So i understand seo has allot to do with keyword selection, but how do you implement these keywords in your website.

I know using them in the title helps, obviously in the content.

Is that it? how do you make the keywords work for the site and seo?

I think the answer above is making things more complicated than they need to be. Plus, keyword density and the title attribute (in a link or image) is useless.

Keywords should be used:

1) in the Page Title
2) in the anchor text of internal links
3) in the filename/URL
4) in the heading tags (H1, H2, etc.)
5) in the page copy
6) in the meta description tag
7) in image alt text

Some time ago, I wrote about this exact topic (but left out #7 – whoops!) on my blog. I’ll include the link below if you need more information.

Hope this helps.

What SEO keywords should I optimize my site for?

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

I have a new site. Not getting very much search traffic, but I hear it is important.

What kind of keywords should I optimize my site for?

We do investing and stock predictions. I imagine the keyword space is highly competitive.

Use https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal to look out for keywords.

Search for keywords like stock predictions and you will get similar keywords related to that. Look out for those keywords search volume and also search them on Google to find their competition.

Select those keywords which have high search volume and less competition. Competition is the number of search results you will get when you search any keyword on Google.
